Dr. Abbott is quite simply exceptional. Among several specialists, he is head and shoulders above. While he is a carful and astute clinician, he is also humble, there is no grandiosity. He practices within the area of competence and refers to trusted colleagues when necessary. He is flexible. He listens. You will not feel "sold to." He is science-grounded, data-driven. Physicians are busy people and too often talk to their patients holding a sand timer, so to speak. Not so with Dr. Abbott. Perfectly willing to respond to all my questions with no clock ticking. Clear explanations,  personal touch, and a sense of credible professionalism. Both office staff and Dr. Abbott have been very attentive to my needs and questions. They made sure I thoroughly and clearly understood how to use the device. Dr.Abbott is amazing! He has actually changed my life. I could not open my mouth further than 1 1/2 fingers wide because my jaw was so tight and had been spasming for years but Dr. Abbott offered me up stretches to practice and now I am able to open it 4 fingers wide! What a life changing thing it has been for me. I am able to chew again. He has also offered up many solutions to me to help figure out my jaw pain. If one thing didn’t work, we try the next thing. I should have posted this a few years ago.  Dr Abbott treated my unexpected severe case of TMJ.  He used periodic manual manipulation techniques and showed me jaw exercises.  Within an expected 1-2 months  or so my jaw was working with minimal pain and I was on the road to full recovery!  He explained what I needed to do if I experienced a flare-up.
